On the contrary, vanilla essence does not need to meet this requirement. In comparison, the extract is purer and has a stronger vanilla flavor.

Vanilla essence or synthetic vanilla is used in most parts of the world as an alternative to the natural vanilla. One teaspoon is equal to one pod of vanilla.
